A vacation in California could be an epic adventure, and since this west coast state in the U.S. is so massive, it offers a variety of regions to choose to travel to on your vacation. Regardless of which region you pick for your vacation, you won’‘t make a wrong decision by choosing California as a destination. Pick any region in the 160,000 square miles of the state of California and there will be many things to do, see, enjoy, etc. The forested northern coast hosts mountains and wilderness while the southern region hosts North America’‘s lowest point (Death Valley National Park). National parks are everywhere in California, just like movie stars, and you have several to choose from depending on the region. Some National Parks you should consider visiting on your Californian vacation are Channel Islands, Joshua Tree, Lassen Volcanic, Redwood, Sequoia and Kings Canyon, and Yosemite. Popular state parks are Big Basin Redwoods, Richardson Grove, and Pfeiffer Big Sur. If you are not interested in parks or your vacation to California, do not despair- Napa Valley has spas, wine, and luxurious restaurants. Disneyland and Hollywood do not need an introduction, nor do the beaches that have been filmed in countless television shows and movies. And then there’‘s San Francisco, the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz and Chinatown. Los Angeles is the state’‘s largest city, and also the second largest in the U.S.. With a state this massive, the possibilities are endless. The state’‘s climate is as various as the landscape. While California can be experienced year-round, the best time to vacation in California greatly depends on what region you are traveling to and what you would like to do on your vacation. The mountain regions offer a brutal winter while the coast offers a temperate climate. Expect rain in the northern part of the state, and the hottest temperatures can be found in the south. Once you decide when to go, the best decision is left to be had: what to do? Everything. Ski near Big Bear or Lake Tahoe. Surf in Orange County, or Santa Monica. Climb a mountain and camp in the Sierra Nevadas. Hike in one of the many parks, state or national. Shop at Rodeo Drive. The possibilities are endless. California offers a variety of cuisine, thanks to the culinary landscape formed by the many immigrants who have settled there over the decades. California is also known for its vineyards, so the official drink would have to be wine. Napa, Sonoma, and Mendocino are great wine districts to visit. English is the official language, although California is known as a multilingual state, particularly Spanish. Enjoy yourself on your California vacation. Be safe, be aware of your surroundings, and be sure to look for the governor for an autograph.
